A long update on life
Many of you have been asking me to update our life and what’s going on – so here it goes;
- Miraculously the kids fish are NOT dead. We’ve come to the conclusion that these fish are lazy and don’t do much. In hindsight we should have bought gold fish that swim around when their alive and don’t swim when their dead … unlike the fish we have now.
- I took Abby into the school yesterday to pick Caleb up. This was a big step for me as I pull together the broken pieces of my parenting pride. (and by the way – on Tuesday I left her in the car)
- Karen has enough hours to collect maternity leave - YEAHH!!. She has a doctors appointment today and hopefully she will be asked to stop working. This will be awsome for her and her health!
- Karen is feeling better. She still isn’t sleeping much and has some bad back pain and cramping but her voice is back and the cold is gone.
Now some prayer requests:
- Karen still. As mentioned – she hopefully won’t be working anymore. She needs her rest and hopefully she can get some.
- With her not working our financial situation will take a hit b/c her wage keeps us “afloat” every month. The great thing is this; everytime we’ve been in situations like this – God comes through in incredible ways. We have seen it before and we will see it again. We have trimmed everything we can and continue to give sacrificially. I’m looking forward to see what He does b/c He is faithful!
- I’m preaching this weekend. God has been teaching me a lot about this role in my life. As mentioned, the last time I preached I felt like it wasn’t as good as I want it to be. Apparently God wanted to show me that I need to stop listening to those negative ideas and do what he’s asked me to do. I’ve heard about some amazing things that have been happening in peoples lives all because of what was talked about on stage from Nehemiah chapter 9 and 10. It’s been an eye opener to me that God has been working and will continue to work! Pray that I’ll do what I’m suppose to this weekend.
- We’re having our final Starting Point this weekend. I have thoroughly enjoyed this group and will miss them. Pray that God will be working overtime and we will have an open and honest discussion and that all of us will share their heart.
- The vehicle situation is on hold right now.
Here are some random praise items that I want to get off my chest.
- I’m so thankful for older men and women who are willing to share their wisdom with younger men and women. On Tuesday at the women’s group that meets at MTC, a veteran Mother of 5 kids shared with the young mom’s about life and parenting and ministry. It sounds like it was a great time of teaching and encouragement.
- I’m thankful for co-workers that I can laugh with and have fun with.
- I’m thankful for my wife and all she puts up with! I’ve said it before – she’s a trooper.
