Monday Morning Random Thoughts
Here are some things on my mind;
- It’s December. Mike , it’s alright to listen to your N’SYNC Christmas album.
- We had a great day at MTC on Sunday. “Haitaian Hope” is a ministry that feeds and teaches hundreds of poor children down in Haiti. Last year at this time we, as a church, decided that this would be a ministry that we could support financially and with our prayers. It has been impacting young lives for a very long time and we have felt compelled to partner with them as much as we can. Recently we found out that they haven’t been able to provide finances for their property lease as well as paying their teachers. With this in mind our church took up a last minute offering this sunday to see how much we could raise – It was incredible to see more than $12,ooo dollars raised (which is on top of our current giving) … in one sunday. This money will help childrens lives in Haiti be touched with the love of Christ. I was very proud of our church!
- Someone made me a watermelon helmet to wear on stage on Sunday. It was the first time I had worn a watermelon, but I think it might become an annual activity! Pictures will be posted.
- Karen and I had a great date night with Keri and Grover on Saturday. We ate at Joey Tomatoes while our friend Kristen from Regina/Cranbrook took care of our kids (thanks for visiting this weekend – we had fun). It was great to spend time with them without the kids and made me realize (again) that I love having my family in the city – we just need to make time to see each other.
- I’m thinking of recapping some of my favorite moments of 2007. I’ve got a couple of good Abby moments that will make you laugh. Stay tuned
- We drove a Tribeca this weekend to see how we like it. We loved that it had heat (our van doesn’t have heat right now which helps at -25C) and we loved how it drived. It even had Navigation which was a cool feature. But all in all I think we’re finding it too small for our liking. Now we’re back to square one on the whole vehicle situation – GRRRRRR
- My final random thought – We put up our Christmas tree and it looks great. Karen and I are at the point where we should obtain another tree to put those sentimental/home made Christmas ornaments on and have the “real” tree to look nice. I do have a really big soft spot for Christmas tree’s with children’s ornaments on it, tincle, and multicoloured lights.
