January 11 prayer requests
It’s been a busy week but a good week. I thought I’d ask you to pray for some things
Family
Karen has only 9 days left until the baby is “suppose” to come out. She is tired and ready to be without child. Pray for health for Karen and health for the baby.
Abby and Caleb are doing really well. Caleb is starting skating lessons on Saturday and is happy to be in a class where there’s no parent supervision. Abby is very content just to play with her “my little ponies” tea cup house and tree fort. Both children went back to school this week and enjoyed it.
Pray for my brother-in-law Grover because his Dad passed away this week. I have found that no matter how old we get, when a parent passes away … it’s still very hard. Grover is leading a memorial service for his dad on the 21st.
Pray for my father-in-law Terry because his mom passed away on New Years Eve. There is going to be a funeral in Regina on the 15th (?). Karen and I can’t make it (we don’t want to chance having a baby in Moosejaw … just joking). This was Karen’s grandma – so it will be hard for her not to be there.
Personal
I’m in a good space! I’m excited to add another member to the family and am really hoping we figure out a girl’s name (we have a boys name though). Ah well, last case scenario we’ll call her chazam?
I’m reading a lot more books lately and really enjoying it. I would love to write a book one day – now I just need a topic, some better grammar, some deep thoughts and a little more humour! Oh ya, a publisher and some time.
Ministry is going steady. I have a small group leaders meeting tommorrow (saturday) and a wedding. I’ll be preaching in February which I’m very excited for. I’m going to try to implement some things I’ve learned from Made to stick It’s a book on communication that I would reccommend to anyone (as well as communicating for a change by Andy Stanley). Starting point is beginning in February as well as we’re hosting a marriage conference with family life. I can’t say I won’t be busy … oh ya, and a newborn.
What you can pray for; a constant attitude of learning and humility. I want to be the best husband, father, pastor, friend I can be. There are things I need to change to do this – but I’m working on it.
For the many people who have asked me “what’s up with your car situation” the answer is this; The Montana has finally kicked the bucket! She’s parked at the house with no plates, no heat and no energy. Our friend Larry (who can get you a killer deal on US imports – I’ll get you his name and number if you want) lent us a van until he can get us a Toyota Sienna with bucket seats. Through this whole ordeal I’ve realized that God has been very good to us in that He let us drive the van for so long, he has provided a temporary vehicle for us … now we’re praying (and budgeting) ways of affording something else.
Anyways – I’ve got some things to do today. Have a great weekend.

I was just thinking about Karen today. That baby is coming soon. I’ll pray that all goes well for you guys. Glad you’re all doing well, though. (And do I even have to say that I’d love to see a picture of Karen pregnant, and, of course, the new baby when s/he arrives?!) Take care, you guys.

In defence of Moose Jaw, they are absolutely wonderful at the hospital. But I understand wanting to have the baby closer to home. We’re praying for you!

We are thinking and praying for you, Brad and Karen. This week is a big event for the Moffatt family = Grandma is excited. Get working on that girls name, you might need one……

I’ts a no brainer…LONITA…of course I will accept it as a middle name. Actually, in all seriousness, I have thought of a name that embraces the sisterhood (Sandy, Keri and I) Ok…ready… Kelody (Ke for Keri, Lo for me and dy for Sandy) Brilliant…I know. Ok, now about Kesani, Lerdy, Lanke? Alright…back to Lonita it is.
Seriously, will be praying. Love ya.
