I love what you've shared in this little mini-series of blog posts. lol I think what people need to remember is that elevating the pastor is dangerous. They generally don't want to be put on a pedestal!! sigh...Pagan Christianity is an awesome book...check it out! It challenges a lot of how we view traditional Christianity. I love how you preach that it's about relationships (with Jesus as well as people) and building them...anyhow, all this to say, after taking a year break from church and having left our last church with our pastor's blessing, I find myself coming back to MTC and enjoy how real you are. thanks for being vulnerable and putting yourself out there!!

Brad -

I am totally loving this little blog series. One of the pastors and his wife from our church are our best friends, and very very much of what you said is completely 100% accurate. I think it would do the Church good to know this stuff!!

Good on ya!

I find that no matter where I go most people don't understand; churched or unchurched. I too agree with all of those posts and could probably add my own two cents. Being a pastor is such a great priviledge but it has it's drawbacks as well.

It's funny because I agree with all seven of those things posted, but I find that people in my church are easily the biggest perpetrators of those misunderstandings. All the people I've come into contact with in town here have no problem seeing me as just another one of the guys here and treating me as such. Wonder if anything can be done to change that?
